UYA is co-administered by high school students employed as youth staff at our office. These youths assist in the planning and implementation of activities for other students with supervision from the adult staff. The youth director leads the youth team.   YEAR ROUND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Urban Youth Action's year-round youth development program provides youth in grades 9 through 12 with the necessary skills to transition from high school to the world of work and or post secondary education.  This is achieved through a series of weekly educational training sessions, various enrichment activities, internship opportunities and mentoring programs.  Youth create career plans that provide a framework to develop and achieve their goals.  A structured curriculum in the areas of Business Acumen, Life Skills, Health & Wellness and Financial Literacy serve as the foundation of training sessions that culminate in internship opportunities in their career field of interest.  UYA also provides academic support for all students and college preparation assistance to juniors and seniors interested in post-secondary education.
